Though you might not see her
Crawling onto your knees,
You can feel her;
Keeping a firm grasp on your feet.
Waiting until you stumble;
‘Til you see nothing but darkness.
Until bliss become miseries;
‘Til you feel nothing but uncertainties.
Looking straight into your eyes;
Gauging every emotion she could find.
Attempting to make you feel uneasy;
Just a hint of ‘what-if’—her victory.
Holding onto you;
Whispering your fears.
Pointing out your flaws;
Taunting ’til your doubts show.
Could you see her in the mirror?
Could you feel her dragging you down?
Does she make you feel little?
Would you let her pull you beneath the ground?
And she’d always stay;
She won’t ever leave.
She lives in you—deep within;
But you must never let her win.
My friend Himali at https://decodinghappiness.wordpress.com/ and Arts and Rhymes at http://artsandrhymes.me/ invited me to try the five-day photo challenge. You can visit their blogs and enjoy their posts! :3
As for me, it’s my 4th photo. Super delayed, I know, but I hope it’s worth it 🙂
Today, I nominate John White at https://doubleupoet.wordpress.com/ to take this challenge. The rules are as follows:
“Post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge”.
